Qantas Holidays and Viva! Holidays have announced they are committed in assisting all trade partners affected after Air Australia was put into administration last week.
For ticketed and departed bookings, Qantas and Viva! Holidays will contact the agent for all impacted passengers and offer assistance in rebooking flights, however will not be able to credit the cost of the original Air Australia ticket to any new bookings.
As new flights will be handled as a new booking component, agents will earn commission on the new flight booking.
For Tickets that have been ticketed but passenger has not yet departed, Qantas and Viva! Holidays will contact agents with bookings due to depart from today and assist in making alternative bookings.
Qantas and Viva! Holidays have advised credits from the cost of the original Air Australia tickets to any new flight bookings will not be possible.
If a change in date is requested as a result of amending a ticketed booking, and supplier cancellation fees are charged then Qantas and Viva! Holidays will endeavor to request a fee waiver where the fees are not covered by the insurance issuer.
Agents with un-ticketed bookings are encouraged to contact Qantas or Viva! Holidays to change the carrier on the booking to an alternative. Price amendments resulting from changing the carrier or date due to availability will be the responsibility of the consumer.
Passengers wishing to cancel their travel plans will be able to place their remaining funds in suspense with Qantas or Viva! Holidays minus the cost of the Air Australia flight tickets or any additional supplier costs.
Additionally, Qantas and Viva! Holidays are unable to process any refunds for unused Air Australia tickets, passengers will need to contact their travel insurance for possible refunds.
