Buyers flying into Queenstown next month will not be disappointed, according to the Tourism Industry Association (TIA) New Zealand, with TRENZ 2012 expected to feature the best of the best in New Zealand’s tourism.
Attracting up to 314 international buyers, the three day event kicking off from 7 May this year to 10 May will feature up to 271 new and old NZ based tourism operators eager to showcase their product and destination to the global audience.
TIA communications manager Ann-Marie Johnson said with 78 new tourism products attending this year, buyers will be able delve into all type of goods from vintage excursions to luxury lodges.
“As part of that it is very important Destination New Zealand shows these international travel Buyers and Media what we have that is fresh and innovative so that they can incorporate those products into their New Zealand itineraries,” Ms Johnson said.
“Tourism is a hugely competitive global business and travellers are always looking for what’s new and ‘hot’.”
Attending for the first time this year, Adrenalin Forest managing director Jean Caillabet said the company saw TRENZ as an opportunity to mix the business up a bit and will use the exhibition as a platform to “tell the world we are here”.
“We feel it is important to be a part of the largest tourism show in New Zealand in order to further grow the business,” Mr Caillabet said.
“We want to establish relationships with potential overseas and domestic clients, especially in the youth and backpacker markets but also free independent travellers and family groups.”
