Gulf Air, Safi code share to Kabul

Days after increased services to Doha, Dhaka and Europe, Gulf Air has announced a new code share agreement with Safi Airways on flights between Kabul and Bahrain.

Unveiled earlier this month and commencing from 23 April, the two airlines will code share on six flights per week, each airline operating three as well as producing joint marketing for the route.

Gulf Air chief executive Samer Majali described Afghanistan city, Kabul as a “key market” for the carrier, with strong demand seeping from the region since the airline first launched its services within the market in June 2011.

“Our commitment to strengthening our regional network and connecting regional markets is reinforced in our partnership with Safi Airways,” Mr Majali said.

“Gulf Air flights between Bahrain and Kabul serve to enhance and strengthen the airline’s regional network while catering to a large migrant Afghan population worldwide that extends from the USA, to UK, Germany and UAE.”
