New Intercontinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort invites families to “reconnect”

InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam, the new ‘grand dame’ of 5-star resorts on the idyllic Thai island of Koh Samui, is inviting families to ‘Reconnect’ with a limited-time only villa promotion tailored for parents with children.

The resort is one of the island’s only luxury resorts to fully cater to families with its 17 2-bedroom stand-alone hillside villas, a dedicated Kids Club and numerous land-based recreational activities, and its Family Retreat Package is available until 15 July, 2012 and priced from THB 13,982 (USD 452) per night for a minimum 3-night stay.  

It includes:

  • Plush accommodation for four in a 2-bedroom villa with daily breakfast

  • Complimentary kids amenities
  • A 60-minute spa treatment at Baan Thai Spa for mum and dad 
  • Complimentary dining for children when parents eat at any one of the Resort’s bars or restaurants.

A paradise for families with its own private beach, seven swimming pools and ‘Planet Trekker’ kids club keeping youngsters entertained with handicrafts, games and supervised play, the InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort recently opened following a multimillion dollar refurbishment.

The two-bedroom Panoramic View Villas are a spacious 210-240 square meters offering sweeping views over nearby islands, whilst private sundecks lead to one of the resort’s five coloured swimming pools. Both bedrooms have “en-suite” bathrooms; extensive living, dining and outside space for families to spread out. 
 
Complimentary in-villa products, especially developed for the resort by Harnn include customized room scents and “tropical survival kits” complete with his and her sandals, Sothy’s facial products, fisherman style sarongs and a beach bag. 

Children also get their own kid-friendly amenities including a miniature bathrobe, slippers and child friendly products. 

As part of this promotion, children under 12 years old will enjoy complimentary meals when accompanying a paying adult in any of the resort’s dining destinations.  This includes beachside restaurant Flames which serves up a menu of Modern European cuisine cooked live, grilled or flamed in front of guests; Amber, a menu of  Thai and Asian cuisines; and Air Bar, the resort’s must try destination for molecular cocktails and unusual tapas, sushi and sashimi. 

Family activities available onsite extend to snorkeling, sailing, ocean kayaking and mountain biking, whilst the resort also boasts two tennis courts and a unique suspension bridge for guests walking pleasure.  Complimentary Wifi and a library of DVDs and ipods for hire will keep kids of any age entertained.

Guests may also choose to upgrade to “Club InterContinental” to enjoy 24-hour butler service, complimentary soft drinks throughout the resort, daily afternoon tea, laundry services, babysitting services and the like. 

Stylish speedboat transfers from Koh Samui International Airport can also be arranged for an additional THB15,000 (USD 485) each way.  The leisurely trip includes a glass of sparkling wine and canapés while taking in the best of the island’s scenery to get a holiday underway or go home with lifelong memories.
