Sea Sentosa wins world-renowned property awards of excellence

Sea Sentosa resort has been awarded Best Apartment Indonesia, Best Development Multiple Units Indonesia and Best Apartment Asia Pacific (Judged out of 23 countries) by the International Property Awards, Asia Pacific 2012/2013 held in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia. Sea Sentosa has also been selected by the judges to compete in London for “Best Apartment in the World” at the World’s Best Property Awards in December.

The Sea Sentosa resort at Echo Beach in Bali, is due to open in January 2013. It is ‘sister’ to the award-winning Sentosa Seminyak Private Villas and Spa by Sentosa World Wide Resorts.

Sea Sentosa is a fully integrated resort, with managed apartments and penthouses, beachfront restaurants and a beach club, created in collaboration with a celebrated international chef. Set on 2.8 hectares of absolute beachfront property, Sea Sentosa will provide guests with a choice of one or two bedroom apartments, and three bedroom penthouses.

Sea Sentosa is a collaboration between some of the world’s most highly regarded designers, who have put their heads and hearts together to create something extraordinary in luxurious beachfront apartment living. This fusion of talented minds has already paid off with winning these international industry awards.

The International Property Awards originated in 1995, to then become the worlds largest and most prestigious property awards. Dedicated researchers invite suitable properties all over the world to submit entries. Entries are separated into regions covering Africa, Asia Pacific, Arabia, Canada, Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, UK and USA. All nominations within each category are then judged by a panel of experts selected from many aspects of the industry. Top scoring winners of each region then go on to compete internationally to win the coveted ‘World’s Best’ in their category.

Sea Sentosa was invited to make a submission and entered the penthouse in the category of ‘Apartment’ and the whole resort in the category of ‘Mixed Use Development’. Both categories had competition from all over the Asia Pacific region across many different types of commercial developments. Sea Sentosa received the highest score in the whole region and is now in the running for becoming the World’s Best Apartment and the World’s Best Mixed Use Development.
After 21 years at the helm of ambitious resort projects, Sentosa Worldwide Resorts Founder, Saxon Looker, has the unique ability to see a completed development in his minds eye, and assemble just the right talent from all round the world to create his vision in everything from design to culture and service.

Saxon explains, Architect Giacomo Passera and Putu Edy Semara have successfully been able to blend Sea Sentosa into the local environment. Each fully appointed apartment is an example of Italian design coupled with the finest local Indonesian materials.

Giacomo explains, ‘I designed Sea Sentosa to blend perfectly with the natural environment while still embracing every facility and service one could wish for from a five-star resort. Besides being integrated with nature and the ocean, it will also be in harmony with the Balinese culture.

A fantastic team of both International and Bali members has helped me make this “dream” become a beautiful reality.
I am delighted and extremely proud on behalf of everyone to receive these prestigious awards, particularly the Best Apartment in Asia Pacific.
Putu Edy Semara explains, “Sea Sentosa is more than just another apartment project. This project is a statement of how a multi level building should be done in Bali. My philosophy is that architecture should always be sensitive to the surroundings and embrace the society.  Building here will always be just more concrete and stone, unless Bali and its people feel they belong to it. This is the true success of Sea Sentosa.”

Sculpted vegetal walls by French designer Patrick Blanc will be complemented beautifully by world-renowned art, including work from the exceptional Massimo Listri. Expansive outdoor terraces and balconies provide panoramic views of the Indian Ocean beachfront and sculpted volcanic rocks.

Ian Duffell – CEO – explains, Sentosa Worldwide Resorts explains "With a philosophy of design-driven luxury, we have created something which has already been noticed internationally by the best in the industry. No expense has been spared to design Sea Sentosa. Combine this with beach frontage to one of the best beaches in Bali, and we predict Sea Sentosa will become an iconic destination in Bali."

Sea Sentosa is partnered with the Bahama Group in Jakarta and CIMB NIAGA Bank. Local Indonesian entrepreneur, Reddy Hartadji, CEO of Bahama Group, is proud to provide the local knowledge and financial expertise to back the creation of this resort.
Reddy Hartadji explains, “Sea Sentosa will set a new standard for luxury beachfront resort living in Bali with the renowned surfing of Echo Beach at its doorstep. Sea Sentosa is a testimony of Bali’s ability to provide world-class professionals and local developers the opportunity to collaborate to create a masterpiece of exceptional luxury resort living.”
