Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide has announced its return to Iraq with the new Sheraton Erbil Hotel planned to open within the next three years.
Announced this week, the 221 rooms and 39 suites property will be the first Starwood hotel in the country after a 20 year hiatus.
Expected to open its door by 2015, the property will be located ten minutes from Erbil International Airport and is a representation of the Group’s commitment to region, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Europe, Africa and Middle East vice president Roeland Vos said.
The hotel is expected to feature extensive dining conference and leisure facilities including the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed, Sheraton Club Lounge, Sheraton Fitness as well as a signature spa.Appealing to the MICE market, Starwood said the property will also include a 720-square metre ballroom, four meetings room and business centre including six private officer.
