An Exquisite Evening of Classical Music at 137 Pillars House Celebrated Hungarian Tenor Xavier Rivadeneira Performs Concert Masterpieces – Monday 4 June 2012 An Evening Not to be Missed

137 Pillars House Chiang Mai host an evening to remember with an intimate, one night concert by celebrated Hungarian State Opera Tenor Soloist Xavier Rivadeneira, accompanied by Pianist Jonas Dept.  The concert will be held in the original Teak Homestead, on Monday  4 June 2012. 

The evening will commence with a welcome reception with canapés and drinks from 6.00-7.00pm with the concert from 7.00 – 8.15pm. The Program consists of a collection of songs by Manuel de Falla, Scarlatti, Tosti, Schumann, Boehm, Arias from the Operas Rigoletto and Turandot and all time favorites such as Granada, Besame Mucho and O Sole Mio.

Xavier Rivadeneira
Xavier Rivadeneira is a Hungarian/Ecuadorian who was born in Quito, Ecuador. Originally reading Law at the University there, he moved to the National Conservatory of Music and studied vocal technique and repertoire with the dramatic soprano Blanca Hauser as well as attending courses in interpretation and acting under distinguished teachers.  While studying in Ecuador he won the Young Soloist Competition. In 1991 he began his studies at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest. Over the next few years he studied with distinguished singers and music staff at the Hungarian State Opera like Zsolt Bende, Margit László, Gyula Pfeiffer and Magda Nádor.  Since 2000 he has been singing at the Hungarian State Opera House. In 2002 he went to London on a Sidney Len Scholarship. He has considerable experience on the concert platform, and has sung in a wide range of oratorios as well as Opera.  He is soloist: of the “Belvárosi” theater, the “Eötvös Lorand” University Orchestra, Hungarian National Opera, the National Theaters of Debrecen and Miskolc, Chamber Opera, Radio Orchestra and the Philharmonic. He   Has performed in: Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Armenia, Ecuador, Mexico and Venezuela.

Jonas Dept

Born in Ghent (Belgium) in 1983, Jonas Dept discovered the piano at the age of six and learned with Georges Deppe (France) and Dominique Woltèche (Austria). At the same time, Jonas studied music writing, harmony, analysis and composition with Belgian composer Jean-Marie Rens. In 2004, he obtained a first prize diploma for piano, music theory and ensemble at Higher Institute for Music and Pedagogy (IMEP) before being admitted for master’s degree in the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in the piano class of virtuoso Dominique Corni.  In July 2009, Jonas took an international exam and is now entitled Licentiate of the Royal Schools of Music London, and in September of the same year, he starts a master in Composition at Royal Conservatory of Music Brussels.  Besides performing in Europe and Thailand, Jonas has been involved in several experimental projects where music combines with other scenic disciplines (theatre and music, soundtrackcomposition for documentaries and short movies, etc). Jonas is currently working on his own compositions  in Chiang Mai (Thailand) and performing for London’s Royal Academy of Dance in Thailand, Australia, Singapore and New Zealand.

The Reception and Concert are priced at Baht (USD60.00) 1,800 per person and the Reception, Concert and Gala Dinner (limited seats available) following the concert are Baht 2,400 (USD80) per person and include service charge and tax.
