The playground of Harry, Hermione and Ron is moving into Osaka with Universal Stuios Japan kick-starting construction on the park’s new attraction ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’.
Planned to launch by late 2014, the attraction is expected to open before the Los Angeles version and will include a reconstruction of witchcraft and wizardry school, Hogwarts as well as various themed rides and foods, Los Angeles Times reported.
"Universal Studios Japan is thrilled to be chosen to make the Harry Potter experience come alive for the people of Japan," Universal Studios Japan chief executive Glenn Gumpel said.
"USJ will recreate to the highest level of authenticity, ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.’"The Potter franchise has achieved success in Japan, with up to 78 million purchasing box office to catch all eight movies, grossing up to $893 million.
