SIA – Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Virgin Australia (DJ) build on their coalition, releasing fares on their Round the World and Circle Pacific packages.
Using the combined networks of both airlines, travellers leaving and returning to Australia have the ability to travel on one ticket, without restriction.
SIA regional vice president Subhas Menon said the options for customers were endless.
“Customers now have the benefit of being able to travel from all parts of Australia through to five continents.”
KrisFlyer and Velocity Frequent Flyer members will be able to accrue miles on these fares.
“The Round the World and Circle Pacific fares offer a range of affordable and attractive travel options to Australian travellers with the convenience of combining travel to the USA, Europe and the Orient into one trip.”
A transatlantic crossing and a transpacific crossing must form part of a Round the World fare and can only occur once on the fare, with a side trip from Singapore to Asia permitted.
A South Pacific crossing and a North / Central Pacific crossing must form part of a Circle Pacific fare and can only occur once on the fare, with a side trip from Singapore to South-East Asia also permitted.
Virgin Australia Group executive of alliances, network and yield Merren McArthur said the announcement of the new fares brings about competitiveness and greater connection.
“Overseas travel is becoming more and more popular with Australians; and Round the World and Circle Pacific fares are a cost-effective and attractive option,” the executive said.
“We are working closely with Singapore Airlines to ensure a seamless experience for guests, along with exceptional product and service.”
The fares will be offered year-round and are only available in Australia.
