India, Malaysia tourism boosts trade

A lift in tourism and merchandise trade has resulted in bilateral trade between India and Malaysia reaching an all-time high.

Trade between the two nations for 2011 was $12.5 billion, up 40 percent on the previous year, according to the Hindu Business Line.

Both Malaysia and India’s flourishing economies, along with a noticeable increase in tourism for the two nation’s aided in augmenting trade, according to Matrade.

Over the last 10 years, trade has seen average growth rate of over 15.6 percent annually.
