JAL Group Traffic Forecast for 2012 Summer Vacation Period

The JAL Group today announced international and domestic passenger traffic forecast for the Japanese summer vacation that stretches ten days from August 10 to August 19 this year.
 
There are currently 251,813 passenger bookings on international JAL Group flights during this period, up 5.1% compared to previous year, while capacity increased by 0.1%. Long-haul transpacific routes and resort destinations like Hawaii and Guam remain popular holiday choices with flights more than 93% full. The resulting load factor of the Group’s international flights is approximately 4 percentage points higher than last year at 89.2%.
 
On the domestic network, passenger bookings now stand at 905,580, 1.8% lower than the same period last year, while capacity rose 3.8%. The overall load factor for domestic JAL Group flights at present is 63.7%.
 
During this peak season, JAL will operate 22 chartered flights to destinations in Europe, Alaska, Honolulu and Palau, and 1 extra flight between Haneda and Fukuoka.
