Hilton Worldwide Appoints Dirk De Cuyper as Regional General Manager for Thailand and General Manager of Millennium Hilton Bangkok

Hilton Worldwide today announced the appointment of Dirk De Cuyper as the Regional General Manager for Thailand and General Manager of Millennium Hilton Bangkok.

A veteran in the hotel industry with over 20 years’ experience, De Cuyper brings to his new role a passion for hospitality as well as the skill and expertise to ensure the smooth running of the 543-room up-market Millennium Hilton Bangkok, a jewel nestled on the banks of the city’s Chao Phraya River and one of the finest hotels in Thailand.

De Cuyper comes to his new role after a successful period as Senior Director of Openings – Greater China. A long-standing member of the Hilton Worldwide family, De Cuyper’s 20-year career with the company has taken him to locations around the world, including Europe, the United States and Asia Pacific, including Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and China. A truly international man, he speaks six languages. De Cuyper was also General Manager of the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund between 2009 and 2011 where he was responsible for establishing the hotel’s reputation as the finest in Shanghai.

In addition to the strong industry knowledge, De Cuyper’s personal passions also drove him to go the extra mile in developing the properties and regions he was assigned to oversee. While managing the Hilton Hua Hin Resort and Spa, he was instrumental in establishing the Hua Hin Hoteliers Club and founded the Hua Hin Jazz Festival, created in 2002. Now in its ninth year, the festival attracts Jazz lovers from across Thailand and is one of the hottest events on the calendar.

A man who is committed to providing comfort and hospitality to travelers from around the world, he is all too aware of the value of the luxury of time and space to relax and unwind. While his higher-octane pursuits include car racing and boating, he places just as much importance in finding time to read, paint, tennis and cook.
