El Nido Resorts continues to be a preferred travel and leisure destination of Asians, receiving two awards in the recently concluded 2012 Best in Travel Poll by Smart Travel Asia, Asia’s dedicated online travel magazine with over one million readers worldwide.

El Nido Resorts’ Lagen Island Resort ranked the 9th Best Leisure Hotel/ Resort in Asia, a spot higher than its last year’s ranking; while, Miniloc Island Resort retained its last year’s rank at the 16th spot. Lagen Island Resort and Miniloc Island Resorts are two of the only three resorts from the Philippines included in the Top 25 Best Leisure Hotel/ Resort in Asia.

“In winning the Smart Travel Asia 2012 poll, El Nido Resorts reaffirms its standing as the Philippines’ premier leisure destination, a trusted island-resorts brand in Asia, and among the world’s best,” says Joey Bernardino, El Nido Resorts Director of Sales and Marketing.

Now on its eighth year, SmartTravelAsia.com’s travel poll, which ran from May to July, is a distillation of its readers’ perceptions and favorite travel brands. Their vote is based on substantial hands-on travel experience, word-of-mouth, and an idea of the brand drawn from advertising and editorial exposure in media.

On the other hand, Palawan, Philippines, ranked Top 4 in the Top 10 Holiday Destinations in Asia, next to Bali, Phuket, Hong Kong, and tied with Siam Reap and Maldives.
