JacTravel, the UK-based wholesale tour operator best known for its extensive range of hotels online and inbound travel services has rewarded Ali Jones for her success in developing Olympic business with a new position as Head of Sales, Asia.
In her new role, Ali will be meeting prospective clients in the Far East, selling JacTravel’s B2B booking system and XML links in to its extensive inventory of hotel accommodation, which trade customers can access on a net rate basis. It currently comprises over 10,000 properties in more than 550 cities and is growing steadily. Ali will also be the main point of contact for IT platforms in the region.
JacTravel’s Director of Online, Angela Skelly said: “Ali did an outstanding job attracting Olympic business. During the London Games, we handled more than 80 Olympic groups of all sizes, from around the world. I have every confidence that under Ali’s leadership, our business will continue to grow at a very rapid pace. In the previous 12 months, JacTravel’s sales in Asia increased by nearly 80%.
Ali Jones said: ““I am really looking forward to this role because I will have such a good story to tell. This year, JacTravel was named UKInbound’s Tour Operator of the Year; it won the Sunday Times Profit Track 100 Award for Customer Service and it was highly placed in several surveys on account of its high growth in turnover and profit. From 2009 to 2012, JacTravel grew its sales 80% from £70m to £125m. During this time, it also created 28 new jobs and is planning to add another 25 this year – so the company is buzzing!”
