Launched late last week, the ‘Greening Season 2013’ campaign includes the Facebook competition; the ‘Great Green-Off’.
As part of the ‘Great Green-Off’ Facebook users have been invited to create and share their own ‘greening’ video or picture – the best submission will win a ‘Gathering’ trip to Ireland for themselves plus five of his/her friends.
As well keeping the spirit of St Patrick’s Day in the air, the ‘Greening Season’ is one element of the bureau’s plans to promote the island of Ireland, according to Tourism Ireland director of markets Simon Gregory.
“This year, our ‘global greening’ initiative is going social, reaching more potential visitors to Ireland than ever before,” he explained.
“People across the world instantly identify St Patrick’s Day with the island of Ireland and ‘Greening Season 2013’ is all about exploiting this ‘talkability’.”
